Our learning in Year 2

Home Learning

All of the staff in school are so impressed by the amount of effort being made to learning at home.

Thank you to all children and parents/carers for baring with us through this unfortunate event! Your fabulous support has made everything so much easier and we cannot show our appreciation enough.

Well done to Zakir- This weeks 'Star of the week.'

Trip to the Lowry January 2020

We visited the Lowry in Salford and looked at a variety of Lowry's artwork which we discussed. We also worked with an artist called Alex who showed us how to draw our own portraits.

Here are some pictures of our music, literacy and maths lessons. We enjoy learning practically where we can and enjoy a varied curriculum.

We were very surprised when L.S.Lowry came in to class to visit us. We managed to ask him lots of questions about his life and his artwork.

Forest School in Year 2

We had so much fun learning about the Great Fire of London in forest schools. We even made our own fires and spoke about how the people would have felt, what they saw and what they could smell.

Here is a topic plan for this half term when our topic is 'Where do we live?'

Times tables

Children are expected to know their 2, 5 and 10 times tables by the end of year 2. They should know them in and out of order and with the related division facts. We learn them with the timestable being learnt at the start e.g. 2 x 1, 2 x 2, 2 x 3, 2 x 4 etc.

Class Dojo Reward System

If you haven't already, please sign up to the Class Dojo Reward System being used throughout school. Your login details were sent home with your child. If these details have been misplaced please let us know and we can give you another copy.

Class Dojo is a great way to keep up to date with class news/photographs and see the reasons why your child is being awarded points by the class teacher!
