Topic Day 21st April 2021
The children thoroughly enjoyed their Topic Day learning all about the time of the Industrial Revolution. I was so impressed with their Victorian costumes. The children were able to handle artifacts from the Victorian period and analyse these to gain an insight into the lives of people during this time. They dressed up as a Victorian lady, found out which countries were part of the British Empire and had a go at doing some weaving. Thank you to all the parents for helping to support the children's learning by providing such amazing costumes.
Welcome to Year 5/6. I hope you have all had a fantastic summer. It is so lovely to have all the children back in class. We are looking forward to a fabulous half term with lots of exciting learning.
On our class page you will find our half termly class newsletters, copies of our homework menu and lots of other useful information!

Takeaway Homework Menus
Our PE day for the summer term is Thursday. Please make sure that your child has both their indoor and outdoor kits in school on that day.
From Monday 17th May we will be sending reading books home with the children. Books will be changed every Monday. We will only be able to change books on a Monday to allow time to quarantine books before they can be sent home with another child. We will not be sending reading records home. You can still record when your child is reading on their private channel in the class team on Teams.
The takeaway homework menu can be found on this page or in the files section of our class team on Teams. Books will be sent home for the children to use to complete their homework in but these should not be brought back into school. Homework is to be uploaded onto Teams by Wednesday morning.
Spelling sheets will be sent home on a Wednesday for the children to learn the words ready for a spelling test the following Wednesday. These do not need to come back into school.
