Mrs G. Callaghan Headteacher 

DSL. PE and PSHE. Subject Leader

 

My name is Gemma Callaghan and I am currently the Acting Headteacher. I love working at St Nicholas School because all of our children here are amazing! I feel that we are like one big happy family and look out for each other. My family and friends would describe me as hardworking, caring and friendly. When I am not in school I like to spend time with my family and children. I also enjoy catching up with my friends, going to the gym and I love a spa day to relax. An interesting fact about me is I have been parasailing and swam with dolphins!

 

 Mrs J. Meeks School Bursar 

My name is Julie Meeks and I am the school Bursar. I love working at St Nicholas School because the children are amazing and I love being part of their journey. My family and friends would describe me as loyal, funny and friendly. When I am not in school I like to take my dogs for a walk, go for a run and spend time with my family. An interesting fact about me is that I absolutely love PURPLE!

My name is Rachel Phelan and I am the year 4/5 teacher and SENCo. I love working at St Nicholas because no day is the same, the children are wonderful and the staff are incredibly supportive and caring. My family and friends would use these words to describe me: loyal, loving, creative. When I am not at school I like to spend time with my family and friends. I love going out for meals and one of my favourite activities is conker hunting! An interesting fact about me is I am a champion Irish Dancer. I can also peel a banana with my feet (or at least I could before I had children!).

When I am not in school I like to read books and go for walks in the countryside. An interesting fact about me is that I have climbed two of the UK three Peaks!

My name is Louise O'Mara and I am the year 6 teacher. I love working at St Nicholas School because we are one big family - supporting and caring for each other. My family and friends would use these words to describe me - caring, thoughtful and dedicated. When I am not at school I like to cook, cross stitch, read and garden. An interesting fact about me is that I have had my poetry published!!

 

Miss N. Parkinson Class Teacher

MFL, Music and Art. Subject Leader

 

My name is Natasha Parkinson and I am the year R/1 teacher. I love working at St Nicholas school because the imagination of the children amazes me. My family and friends would describe me as kind, enthusiastic and gentle. When I am not in school I like to read and be outdoors. An interesting fact about me is I spent 4 weeks in a Buddhist monastery in Nepal teaching english.

Mrs E. Towers Teaching Assistant

My name is Emma Towers and am a teaching assistant in year R/1. I love working at St Nicholas School because we are a small school where you are able to get to know all of the children. It is lovely to see them grow. My family and friends would describe me as friendly and caring. When I am not at school I like to read and go for walks. An interesting fact about me is that I gained my brown belt in karate when I was younger.

 

Miss D. Elsom  Teaching Assistant

My name is Donna Elsom and I am a teaching assistant in the year R/1 and year 3/4 classes. I love working at St Nicholas School because as a small school, you get to know all children in each year group and can develop a strong bond. My family and friends would describe me as caring, friendly, committed and helpful. When I am not at school I like to have fun in the outdoors: hiking, climbing, watersports: anything outside. An interesting fact about me is I ran a 10K race the day before giving birth and met my hero Jessica Ennis-Hill!

 

 

Miss M. Hussain Teaching Assistant

My name is Mariam Hussain and I am the teaching assistant in year 1/2. I love working at St Nicholas School because it is a nice place to work. My family and friends would describe me as kind, friendly and creative. When I am not at school I like to read. An interesting fact about me is that I like countryside views.

 

Miss L. Lord Teaching Assistant

My name is Leigh Lord and I am the teaching assistant in year 3/4. I love working at St Nicholas School because I have previously worked as a supply teaching assistant in quite a few schools and when I started here I have never felt more at home and part of a big family. I really enjoy spending time with all the children and helping them learn and grow. My family and friends would describe me as loyal, caring and empathetic. When I am not at school I like to spend time with my family and go for long walks. I also love to garden when the weather allows me to! An interesting fact about me is that I come from a very large family from all around the world including Australia and New Zealand.

 

Miss J. Yates. Teaching Assistant 

My name is Joanne Yates and I am a teaching assistant in year 4/5. I love working at St Nicholas School because I enjoy working with children. My family and friends would describe me as caring, funny and a little bit crazy! When I am not in school I like to travel, read and be in my garden. An interesting fact about me is that I used to live in China.

 

Miss S. Simkins. Teaching Assistant

My name is Sarah Simkins and I am the teaching assistant in year 3/4 and year 4/5. I love working at St Nicholas School because everyone is really helpful. My family and friends would describe me as cheerful and jolly. When I am not at school I like to relax in my garden and read a book. An interesting fact about me is that my family build steam engines and we take them around the country. I also volunteer on the railways.

 

Mr P. Mosses Teaching Assistant

My name is Paul Mosses and I am the teaching assistant in year 6. I love working at St Nicholas School because the children are fun and interesting. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I like the ethos. My family and friends would describe me as fun, outgoing, clever and modest. When I am not at school I like to read, play and coach rugby. I also spend time with my family. An interesting fact about me is that I am ex-Army and played rugby for the Army and combined services.

 

Miss M. McCray Lunchtime Supervisor

My name is Michelle McCray and I am a welfare assistant. I love working at St Nicholas School because I enjoy working with children and have built up good relationships with the children here. My family and friends would describe me as thoughtful, funny and reliable. When I am not at school I like to spend time with my family and socialise with friends. An interesting fact about me is enjoy baking cakes!

 

Miss S. Robinson Apprentice Business Support Officer

My name is Stacey Robinson and I am an apprentice working as a school business support officer. I love working at St Nicholas School because everyone is always so friendly. My family and friends would describe me as outgoing, funny and loud! When I am not at school I like to spend time with my children and have family days out. An interesting fact about me is that I am from the West Midlands but actually born in Chester.
